"You can't step into the same river twice."

Here are some of our thoughts about this ancient saying. They make a kind of poem:

You can’t step in the same river twice.
The river is always changing,
The water is always changing.
And, once you’ve stepped into a river,
It’s not just a regular river,
It’s a river you’ve stepped into.

You can’t step in the same river twice.
You will always step differently into it.
You don’t make the same mistake twice.

You can’t step in the same river twice.
There are some things that if you do them
You cannot change.
So, think before you act.

You can’t step in the same river twice.
But, run at the same pace as the river,
Dip your toe in,
It could be the same water.
Put a bottle in, watch it float,
You could see the water you last stepped in.

But, then again, the bottle might change the river.
You can’t step in the same river twice.

Our river kenning poem

An ocean goer
A land flow-er
A nature keeper
A habitat feeder
A damn breaker
An ice maker
A splash spawner
A swimming pacer
A fun whizzer
A lake filler
A thirst quencher
A pattern creator
A down-cooler
A mountain skimmer
A water giver
A fish liv-er
